Ritual Walpurgisnacht: Gathering Supplies

I promised recently that I would share with you a slice of our ceremony so that if you were interested in celebrating with us on Walpurgisnacht you would be able to do so. There is a little bit of prepwork involved, and while most if not all of these things should be available there is a chance that maybe you need a little time to put it together so here is a list of materials that you will need for the ritual which I will release to you on Walpurgisnacht eve.

You will need clean materials before you start this ceremony, and you must take special care not to injure yourself with fire or a blade. Injuring yourself causes weakness and weakness is not something had by gods, namely: you. With regards to the design and other décor on the altar, please feel free to make it your own. You can have additional items present, but in order for the ceremony to function according to the instructions which will be released on Walpurgisnacht Eve, you will need the following items.

Altar

Revere your altar offering: put it on a raised pedestal of some sort. It doesn’t have to be high, it could be folded fabric from a cloth napkin, or something else. If you create a raised surface out of stacking objects, make sure it is strong and sturdy!

Altar Offering

Instead of a female form you will be using a flower. Specifically, if you can get your hands on a pink peony, that would be best. If not a peony, you can use a pink rose or a similar pink flower. Drawings or print-outs are acceptable if cut out of the paper but it will need to fit on your altar. When you place your flower on the altar pedestal/fabric/whatever you’ve got going on, you will want the blossom closest to you and the stem toward Baphomet. This should be located at the center of your altar.

Ambience

You need a way to play ambient music. Suggested tracks will be provided on Walpurgisnacht Eve. You can set this up with a speaker, play it through your phone, or use headphones. Whatever suits, just make sure you can hear it and hear yourself when you’re speaking.

Apple

You must go and pick this apple out yourself. Only you will know which apple will be most appropriate for this ceremony. Pick the best one by your standards: it can be of any variety or size, color, organic nature, anything. Make sure it’s washed, shined, and incredibly appetizing.

Bell

This can be substituted for a small musical instrument but it will have to be one-handed and small enough to stay out of the way.

Candles

You need 1 unscented ceremonial candle (not a tea lite candle) preferably black or red. You may also put the candle in a black or red candle holder instead. It is recommended to symmetrically prepare your ritual chamber with additional candles at the left and right of your altar, but it isn’t required. Do not. under any circumstances. use white. tea. lite. candles.

Chalice

to drink from. This can be anything but it must be clean and it must be safe to drink from. A chalice with a stem would be better than one without.

Knife

You will need at least a paring knife or a knife with a carving tip such as steak knife or a pocketknife. If you have one you can additionally use a ceremonial blade for the invocation, but have something else to cut with that won’t slip and cut you instead.

Matches

you can also use a lighter, just be careful with fire.

Sigil of Baphomet

You will need a representation of Baphomet. This can be a paper image of the actual sigil, a piece of jewelry that displays it, or something else. It should be facing the direction the sun rises. You should be facing sunset. Baphomet should not be above your eye level during the ritual, so keep this in mind during setup and how you choose to orient yourself.

Totems

You need 3 personally symbolic items that can evoke a positive reaction from you. The reaction needs to be one of the following:

Happiness
Fortune
Love
Luck
Health
Protection.

Each item should represent a different selection from the list, and each totem needs to be powerful enough to actually make you feel this way by interacting with it. They can be any size so long as still feasible to be used for ritual purposes. If you have luxury car, for example, that makes you feel rich and glamorous, you can bring a photo of the car with you to trigger that feeling, but clearly the car itself will not fit in the ceremonial chamber.

Elixir

Your favorite white wine or chardonnay. I recommend Italian sparkling white wine, 1928 Prosecco for this ritual in particular. In the event that you aren’t able to enjoy alcohol, sparkling cider or seltzer is the alternative. Do not use soda, do not use juice, do not use water, do not use energy drinks, teas, coffee, etc…

This psychodrama can be performed in your head or in the real world, but you'll get much better results by touching, speaking, and hearing real sounds. The purpose here is to share with you what you need before Walpurgisnacht Eve so that you can be better prepared if you choose to join us.
