Save Yourself from Satanic Curses

Sorry, kid. You’re SOL. If you have to ask for a thing it’s too expensive, so you may as well put your head down and just accept what’s happening to you…Or not. You are a Satanist after all, and those venom-coated fangs and knife-like talons are aching to help you cut yourself free from whatever disaster you see yourself in. It is said that belief in being cursed will lend energy to the curse itself, but how could you ever change what you don’t identify as unacceptable? Admitting you’re afflicted with something is the first step, and there is a way to prevent it from strengthening that curse so long as you keep your wits about you.

Lesser Magic curses are absolutely the most embarrassing sort to be afflicted with. If you’re afflicted with a Lesser Magic curse, you’ve suffered a multifaceted attack that will have drained your supplies of everything the magician desired, and you may in the end find yourself feeling rather skeletal, bound, and without liberty to move forward. Nobody likes to feel like their world is spinning out of control, and you may not even know the witch who has cursed you—and they, fairly, may not even realize that you are affected by their orchestrations—but regardless there is a way, contrary to what founder Anton LaVey proposes.

Why are you waiting for it to fall in your lap? Get off your ass and fight back. The world will not indebt itself to you, it’s up to you to fight for what you believe in. I don’t know what effects this curse has had on you, whether it’s missing out on a promotion, losing a relationship, or losing face: when you find yourself on the wrong end of the short stick, it’s time to convince someone else to swap with you. Vengeance for Lesser Magic curses may be plausible but since the curse has been carried out you may consider them far out of your reach and you need to start strategizing. Fight magic with magic. Go head to head. Let your loss impassion your campaign and you will reclaim solid ground. A word of caution: keep your attention focused on reclaiming what you’ve lost, not on vengeance. Should it be appropriate to destroy your opponent in order to reclaim it, so be it: Lex Talionis supports you, but do not let it distract you. There is an optimal time for everything and you don’t want to miss any further opportunities simply because your head is in the wrong place.

There are situations where you may recognize someone working a spell on you that you may choose not to resist. There are countless situations and styles a witch may employ in their favor, but of the times when I’ve noticed someone working their magic on me I’ve considered what would be truly beneficial to me. Not all curses are negative, you see. Sometimes I will play along as if I am not being used only so that I can use it to my advantage later. One example of this is when an apprentice panders to acquire your trust but intends to unseat you on your throne of mastery. Such an apprentice is an apprentice because they do not have the foresight to recognize that when you see through their guise THEY are the ones being used since you enjoy their flattery and they will not achieve their end. Another example of experiencing a curse by a Satanic witch that is beneficial to you is one that brings you happiness, love, success, or some other such emotion. My fiancée is my fiancée because she enchanted me and I am forever happy to be so.

There is another type of magic in Satanism: Greater Magic. It’s a sort of magic where if you are on the receiving end of a curse you may endure significant suffering. It isn’t about losing a single opportunity, it could be losing a job. It could mean that a beloved companion passes on, or it could mean ushering you to the precipice of what may turn into a very bad year—and this is because when a Satanic witch unleashes their energy toward their aim it can act as a beacon for similar energy. Said in layman’s terms: how many times in your life has one single bad event spoiled the entire day for you? How many times has a bad week ruined the entire month, the entire year? How many times has one unfortunate situation had rippling effects that have sourly affected you for an extended period? This type of magic is the sort of magic that you are at the most danger of amplifying when you recognize it for being a curse. If you tell yourself that a collection of ill preferred events are due to someone’s persecution you relinquish what control you previously had to an uncontrollable and untouchable antagonist. (The same can be said for curses of a positive nature: if you feel “blessed” by a witch you may attribute all good events to the blessing and become dependent on the blessing, be it real or imaginary.) What then? If you admit that you are cursed, how are you to counter it? Our founder suggests using an old-wives’ method: consume it and make it a part of you. Create food that represents the curse in a metaphoric sense and bring it into your being. Doing this will claim mastery over it since the literal cookie will be broken down and used for energy… What a waste. I’m all up for eating cookies, but I’d rather skip the idea of poisoning cookies like the wicked gingerbread house witch. No, no. Do not accept someone elses’ curse into your body for permanent residence. Filling yourself with someone else’s bitterness will only give you a headache, so it’s best to redirect this energy.

Much like with Lesser Magic you may or may not know who the conjurer of your storm cloud may be. You do know one thing though: they’ve already released all of their energy at you. They have none left if they’ve done it right, and if they haven’t then they’re already suffering under their own plague of misery (Hah. Haha, ha. Hah, they deserve it should they be so stupid.) Regardless, it’s done. They felt as if they were acting in the capacity of being a balancing factor of the universe, and now it’s up to your judgement to decide if they balanced it correctly. It may be hard to wrap your head around this due to what’s been happening to you lately, but they actually sent you a gift, regardless of how barbed it may be. Embrace it. Don’t ‘eat it,’ but add it to your arsenal for your next psychodrama. The point of the Greater Magic ritual is to release emotions within yourself and aim to route the power of that energy toward something that is otherwise unobtainable. Maybe there is something you want—if so conjure the feelings of unfairness from your curse. Maybe there is something you don’t want—if so, recall the adverse sentiment to what suffering you’ve endured.

In the end there is plenty that you can do to be rid yourself of curses (however pleasant or otherwise) from a Satanic witch. You can choose to examine what has happened to you and determine if you want to declare it a period of misfortune (since identifying it as a curse will automatically grant it an onset and termination once redirected) or if you want to hail it as a blessing that you fear may someday end. You can decide if you want to energize the helpless feeling you’re burdened with, or you can demand control over your own destiny and exercise a proactive campaign toward what you miss, what you lost, what you lack. The choice is yours, Satanist. Don’t accept ‘no’ as an answer. Drive the herd. Don’t let it drive you.
